Wipay, Selfly Store, Arbitrade and V2V drive retail technology with card payment integration in smart coolersmaquian vending machine

Wipay, in collaboration with Selfly Store, Arbitrade and V2Vhas successfully completed the integration of the Qpaypos Q5000 Android terminal into Selfly Store smart refrigerators, marking a key step towards the future of unattended retail. This project, already operational in strategic locations in Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands, represents a new standard in the autonomous shopping experience: more agile, secure, and accessible, with no staff or waiting required.

The operation is as simple as it is innovative: the user taps their card on the Q5000 terminal, which generates a symbolic pre-authorization. This unlocks the fridge and allows it to open. Once the customer takes the desired products and closes the door, the system automatically identifies the items removed and charges the exact amount to the card, replacing the initial pre-authorization. It's all frictionless, simple, and automatic.

From a technical standpoint, this is a significant milestone for Wipay: it's the first integration of the Q5000 Android terminal fully carried out in the Cloud and via APIs.This allows for a highly scalable, secure, and efficient architecture. Unlike traditional systems, this cloud-based model enables real-time remote monitoring, lower implementation costs, and a superior ability to adapt to each operator's needs. en la nube permite supervisión remota en tiempo real, menor coste de implementación y una capacidad de adaptación superior a las necesidades de cada operador.

Real applications: hotels, offices, universities

The solution is already operational in strategic locations across Madrid, Barcelona and Canariasand it's particularly aimed at environments where 24/7 access provides significant added value: hotel lobbies, corporate offices, logistics centers, hospitals, universities, and gyms, among others.

"This project is a real example of how innovation, technology, and collaboration can generate solutions with immediate impact for both consumers and operators," says Jugatx Ansotegui, Wipay's Business Development Director. "The integration of the Q5000 into Selfly Store smart refrigerators is just the beginning of a new generation of payment solutions in automated retail, and an invitation to imagine new ways to shop that are freer, more secure, and adapted to each person's pace."

100% collaborative innovation

Selfly Store, as the manufacturer of the smart refrigerators and, along with Wipay, the provider of the cloud solution; Arbitrade, as their operator; and their technological partner V2V, have all played a key role in implementing this solution. They ensured perfect interoperability among the devices, the management software, and the payment system. This collaboration demonstrates how technology and a shared vision can accelerate the adoption of more efficient retail models focused on the user experience.

In the words of Javier Arquerons, CEO of Arbitrade, "For us, this integration represents a decisive step forward in our commitment to making people's lives easier. At Arbitrade, we believe in smarter, more agile retail that truly adapts to everyday needs. We are committed to technologies that simplify the shopping experience: accessible, secure, and designed for quick and hassle-free user interaction. This solution achieves that in an exemplary way."

Enrique Bretones, Area Manager for Southern Europe at Selfly Store, stated: "At Selfly Store, our mission is to make Smart Fridge solutions accessible to consumers, anywhere, anytime, allowing for 'Grab-and-Go' purchases that are easy and convenient for customers. Our product range includes the Selfly Ambiente, Selfly Fridge, and Freezer models. The integration with Wipay's versatile and highly capable payment solution has helped us take a significant step towards this mission. We are excited to partner with leading companies like Wipay to offer innovative solutions to consumers while also streamlining operator transactions as much as possible."

The terminal Q5000 with Android operating system in neglected environmentsthis makes it one of the most versatile solutions on the market.

Beyond its technological component, this project responds to a new retail model that adds a transformation in consumer habits: contactless shopping, self-service, direct access to the product, continuous availability and personalised experience.

For Wipay, Selfly Store, Arbitrade and V2V, this is just the first phase of a broader roadmap to transform physical spaces into connected, automated and user-driven environments.
